But, a few these extensions are buggy and cause chrome crashing. Another issue is misusing a number of these extensions. For e.g., installing extensions for additive games and social networking sites. This can adversely influence productivity.

The solution is block other user’s permission to install extensions. Chrome allows user to install extensions.

To prevent user from installing extensions, follow the following steps:

Firstly, you must be the Administrator of your computer.

Go to C: drive then in Users, choose the Windows account you want to apply the restriction to.

After selecting account, Go to App Data->Local->Google->Chrome->User Data->Default.

After this Right Click on the Extensions folder and select Properties from the context menu.

Go to the Security tab and select the Windows user account you need to include limitations for. Click Edit to alter permissions.

In case you need to prevent a user from installing extensions however you want to enable them to utilize those which might be already installed in Chrome, only discard ‘Write’ permissions.

For this Click Deny under Write and apply changes.

In case you need to prevent a user from the use of all extensions, remove all permissions.

For this Click Deny under Full control (The check mark automatically gets checked for all other options under deny) and apply changes. In this way, all the extensions in Chrome will be disabled and the user will not be able to enable them or install any new extension.

This process will ensure that user don’t install extensions with permissions.
